New House Estate Salisbury Wedding
Sophie and Alex New House Estate Wedding in Salisbury
On a bright July day, I made my way to the stunning New House Estate for the wedding of Sophie and Alex. From the fun we had on our engagement shoot in the New Forest, I knew this was going to be an awesome day with an amazing couple. I couldn’t wait to get started.
As a Wiltshire wedding photographer, I love the wide range of beautiful venues there are to choose from. Whether you want a cosy, intimate barn feel or an opulent stately home, there is something for everyone. The New House Estate is nestled between the borders of Wiltshire and Hampshire and only a short drive from my Salisbury home and is sure to become one of my favourite venues. I could understand completely why Sophie and Alex fell in love with this venue as I drove through the picturesque woodland, down the cherry tree-lined avenue, up to the historic Grade 1 listed Jacobean Manor House.
As the guests began arriving, the conversations and laughter started flowing, and the boutonnieres went on. As one of the hottest days in July, the guests were grateful to head inside for the ceremony. Everyone poured into the antique ballroom, ready for Sophie’s big entrance. Sophie’s dad beamed with pride as he walked her down the aisle to the adoring looks of Alex.
If I could describe this wedding in one word, it would have to be colourful. From Sophie’s bridesmaids in their pastel bridesmaids dresses, the funky rose bouquet to the bunting hanging in the trees. However, it was Sophie’s striking flower embroidered chapel length veil that caught everyone’s eye with its exquisite detail. If you love colour, then you’ll find so much inspiration from this wedding!
Sophie and Alex’s ceremony was perfect, and their guests couldn’t wait to shower them in hugs and confetti as they headed back out into the summer sun. One of the great things about getting married at the New House Estate is the amount of space for entertaining your guests. Sophie and Alex thought of everything, providing a caricaturist and classic lawn games for grown-ups and children to enjoy. With their guests busy having fun, I snuck Sophie and Alex away to create some cool portraits in the sprawling grounds. On their engagement shoot in the New Forest, Sophie and Alex knew just what to expect from my relaxed approach and that their images would be epic. There are so many fantastic places for wedding portraits at the New House Estate that I cannot wait to go back again.
After some delicious stone-baked pizzas and some moving speeches, the band started up and everyone headed for the dancefloor. It wasn’t long before the ties came off, the sunglasses came on, and the dance moves came out. With no room left on the dancefloor, these people certainly know how to party.
If you are looking for a Wiltshire wedding venue, then I certainly would recommend the New House Estate. This big, colourful summer wedding was great fun to photography and suited my relaxed documentary wedding approach perfectly.
Here are just some of my favourite images from Sophie and Alex’s big day.
